L'OM failed to find the net in Bordeaux and left Gironde with a point from the draw.

The starting eleven

Apart from the absence of Florian Thauvin, André Villas-Boas has his whole group to face Bordeaux. The Olympian coach made some modifications from the French Cup match against Strasbourg. Sakai is back in his right-back position. Bouna Sarr, author of an exceptional goal against Strasbourg, goes up a notch and occupies the position of right winger. Midfielder Morgan Sanson returns after serving his suspension game. Finally, Dario Benedetto rediscovers the tip of the Olympian attack.

The MATCH

The match did not start in the best way for the Olympians, especially for Caleta-Car, who was sanctioned with a card for an illegal tackle on De Préville. This warning is the third in less than ten games for the Croatian, so he will be suspended for the quarter-final against Lyon.

The Bordelais got several free kicks but were not dangerous. The match was racing at the end of the period. On an Olympian corner, Kamara took the lead, Pablo pushed back with his hand, but the referee did not award a penalty. On the following action, Bordeaux opened the scoring through Pablo and after long minutes, the referee, Mr. Buquet, refused this goal with the help of VAR, the defender having helped himself with his hand. At the break, the score was 0-0 between the two teams.

In the second period, the two teams got two big chances each, all in the last quarter of an hour. Basic's long shot hit Mandanda's crossbar. Radonjic responded with a shot to the ground at the far post from his right side but Costil interposed. Four minutes later, the Bordeaux captain intervened again on a strike from Radonjic. Finally, at the end of the meeting, the great Steve Mandanda turns an effort from Pablo's head and allows OM to keep their clean sheet.

OM and Bordeaux leave in a draw without any team having found their way to the nets.

Another trip to come

OM will travel to Saint-Etienne this Wednesday, February 5 at the end of the 23rd day of the Ligue 1 Conforama, its second away game in three days. In terms of classification, OM are in second place but only have three small points on its opponent, Rennes.
