Olympique de Marseille returned to winning ways at the Orange Vélodrome on Tuesday evening, securing a 1-0 win over Bordeaux.

The Olympiens were looking to grab the three points on offer from this rescheduled week 18 fixture from December, but would have to do it without the supporters in an empty stadium.

OM started strongly, as has been the case often in recent weeks with Lucas Ocampos and Hiroki Sakai both being thwarted by Benoit Costil.

OM’s job was made slightly easier when Kalu was sent off by the referee after the Bordeaux player’s tackle on Ocampos.

Bordeaux had their efforts, namely through Jimmy Briand and Francois Kamano, but neither came to stick.

OM got the breakthrough they deserved when from Bouna Sarr’s corner - it was helped on by Duje Caleta Car then by Boubacar Kamara, who got the all important final touch.

Morgan Sanson would hit the post minutes later as OM agonisingly came close to a second.

The second half proved a rather turgid affair with neither side hitting key chances - though Valere Germain was unlucky to be denied by Costil once more as OM held on to secure a welcome three points.
