Pro 2: Defeat at Riviera FC
Before facing Riviera FC on Sunday, OM were aware of the results of their rivals at the top of Group H in National 3. Fos had won, but Bourgoin Jallieu and Lyon la Duchère had drawn. A win on the Côte d’Azur was therefore essential to stay within striking distance of the leaders. Unfortunately, our Olympians did not get off to the best start. As early as the 6th minute, the Riviera side found a way through our defence. They struck again on the half-hour mark. Fortunately, Marseille’s response was not long in coming, with Ange Lago pulling one back.
In the second half, Romain Ferrier’s players gave their all to equalise, but Riviera FC’s defence held firm.
With this defeat, OM slip to fourth place, six points behind the leaders, Fos-sur-Mer. In the next round of fixtures, on Saturday 11 April, OM will host OL.
