U19: Prestigious victory against Liverpool
On the sidelines of the UEFA Champions League match between OM and Liverpool, a friendly match between the two clubs' U19 teams was organised at the Francis-Turcan stadium in Martigues.
After an intense but goalless first half, our young Olympians made the difference in the second half. Milan Lecesse opened the scoring with a superb lob from midfield. Marseille doubled their lead with a fine move initiated by Antoine Valero on the left wing and finished by Moctar Guirassy from close range in a one-on-one with the Liverpool captain.
It was a great warm-up ahead of the UEFA Youth League match on 3 February at Real Madrid.
