Having beaten AS Saint-Etienne (2-1), OM won their second game in a row and symbolically won the EA Ligue 1 Games. A sumptuous goal from Nemanja Radonjic concluded the evening in the most beautiful way.

2 out of 2: OM wins the EA Ligue 1 Games

It was only a friendly tournament, of course, but it is always good for confidence to win and all the more against a historic rival. After their first win against Bordeaux on Thursday, OM went on to a second win, with the same score of 2-1. The first scorer was the same from one game to the next: Dimitri Payet. The Olympian No. 10 found the target in the first quarter of the game after a nice individual number that ended with a fine shot curled up on the opposite post. Payet's American masterclass continued with three goals in two games in DC. The next belonged to Nemanja Radonjic. OM received a symbolic trophy, but gained confidence for the rest of their preparation. The only problem is the injury of Luiz Gustavo (29th), who was hit in the ankle.

An exceptional goal from Radonjic

Nemanja Radonjic will undoubtedly have left a lasting impression with his lightning bolt (74th). The Serbian international tried hard after his entry in the second half. And it was because he pressed that he was rewarded. Thrown in deep, he took the ball, cut into the defence of Saint Etienne, before concluding with a powerful shot, out of Stéphane Ruffier's reach. A marvel.

A full service

The game advocated by coach André Villas Boas is beginning to bear fruit. We've already seen it against Bordeaux. This time, the game played by the Olympians was even more successful. AS Saint-Etienne struggled in the game. Nordin's goal was more out of carelessness, a point to work on during training, as Les Verts rarely put OM at risk. The OM team, on the other hand, has shown more progress in its game. There was a collective control of events, embodied in a control of possession and a diktat of the tempo of the match. All this is promising and will have to be confirmed (and will of course be worked on) over the course of the upcoming friendly meetings.

A last American outing on Wednesday

André Villas Boas' men have one last game left before returning to Marseille. The opportunity to make it three out of three and conclude this American tour with a flawless performance. This gala match, is awaited by the American supporters.  It will be at Audi Field against Wayne Rooney's DC United. Kick-off is at 20:00 local time (2:00 in Marseille).
