Les Olympiens faced the national team of Cape Verde (1-1) in the late morning at the Robert Louis-Dreyfus Centre.

Filling the downtime during the international break, the friendly competition ended in a draw. Dimitri Payet equalised the goal of FC Porto's center forward, Zé Luis (16th), on a penalty kick won by Bouna Sarr (18th).

This meeting against a national selection was intended to keep competitive pace before resuming Ligue 1 competition. André Villas-Boas opted for a 4-2-3-1 and gave playing time to various Olympiens.

The Olympians return to league play on Sunday, 20 October, at 9 p.m. CET, against Strasbourg on Matchday 10 at the Orange Velodrome.
