Les Olympiens re-enter Ligue 1 action at 17:30 CET with a home match against Lille for Matchday 12. It's a vitally important meeting at the Orange Vélodrome against a direct competitor for the top spots in the League.

Seize the opportunity

Eliminated from the Coupe de la Ligue BKT on Wednesday at Monaco (2-1), André Villas-Boas and his squad are returning to league play today. With 16 points already, OM is only two away from a top-3 spot, which is currently occupied by Lille (3rd, 18 points). With Lille and Lyon both locked in as the next fixtures, OM wants to take advantage of Orange Vélodrome to settle all doubt.

Best foot forward

Entering Matchday 12, only 3 points separate the 7th place Olympiens from the 15th-placed Nice. It's suffice to say that this League still holds many surprises. One could be when OM turns around an early-season stumble and climbs into a European qualifying position. The mission is simple: win these next matches and earn your spot.
"By reaching our full potential," says manager AVB. The League campaign is long but the opportunity is there for the taking.

Lille, 3rd But looking for answers

Led by Nigerian Victor Osimhen (7 goals in 10 starts), LOSC arrives without having won a single game out of its last 5 in L1 (2 draws, 3 defeats). It's a contrasting story from last year, when they produced an average of 1.68 points / game away from home, to punch a ticket to the Champions League.
This irregularity can partly be explained by the departures of Nicolas Pépé and Thiago Mendes, and by a calendar stacked with the Champions League group stage.

From the coach...

AVB en conf' au Centre RLD"Lille has an incredible intensity of play, a youthfulness, they are disruptive and aggressive - also at a high level. It will be necessary for us to play at our highest level to beat this team. It will be a difficult match. It remains realistic for us to reach where we want to be in the table if we win, of course, and the two upcoming matches may be the turning point for us."
