On Friday afternoon, the 17-year-old OM Academy striker became a professional Olympique de Marseille player.

Olympien leaders, headed by President Jacques-Henri Eyraud, did not have a second free on Friday afternoon. They continued the rolling out of first professional contract signatures. Jores Rahou was the third of the day. Surrounded by his relatives, the Marseille striker initialed the documents and posed with the Olympique de Marseille jersey. He signed for three years.
Born on February 2, 2003, in Marseille, Jores Rahou has been with OM since he was 7-years-old. An attacking player, he can adapt to all positions in attack but he also contributes to the collective with excellent quality of passes. Since 2010, he has completed at all stages of pre-training and training Olympiens.
In 2019-2020, Jores Rahou began his training, during the summer, with the professional group. He continued the season with the National 2 team before being named captain of the U18 R1 formation of Olivier Jannuzzi and Pancho Abardonado who finished in first place in his championship.
Jores Rahou won the Boulanger trophy for the best young person in the Academy twice in 2019, in January and September!

Nasser Larguet, OM Academy Director

“He has talent and an interesting level technique. He has taken all the steps in the club. He has a physical maturity which allowed him to be very successful with the 17 year olds, and the 19 year olds too. I think he still needs a year of work to reach the last milestone to reach the professional team. He started last season with the pros, he had a promise of a professional contract and we are doing it today because he has potential. We haven't just given it to give it, but there is a challenge for it. We could have kept him on an aspiring contract last season but the Club decided to break his contract and have him already signed up for a professional contract. He has the talent and the potential, but we shouldn't just stay on it, we also need performance. We will take the time for that next season."
