Olympique de Marseille announces the appointment of Pablo Longoria as Chief Football Officer

Endowed with a very high level of requirements, after having notably worked at Juventus and Valencia, clubs used to playing for their domestic title and the Champions League, Pablo represents the new generation of sports managers.

His in-depth knowledge of European and world football, combined with an innovative approach, made him the ideal candidate for this position.

Multilingual speaking 6 languages (Spanish, French, English, Italian, Portuguese and German), Pablo knows how to handle different contexts and cultures in each country and is used to high intensity atmospheres.

Pablo will oversee the entire sports sector, from the official team to the training centre. He will be responsible for transfers and will accelerate the development of the use of data in sports decision-making.

He will take office on Monday, August 3.

Jacques-Henri Eyraud :
"Throughout a particularly rigorous process, we searched for a sports manager who was already very experienced, had worked for top European clubs, and who brought a modern approach to the job. In Pablo we found that combination, along with the human qualities that impressed us.
Pablo Longoria will arrive the same day as Hugues Ouvrard at Olympique de Marseille. We will thus have completed our organisation for phase 2 of the project and I am looking forward to facing all our new challenges with such a talented and demanding team".

Pablo Longoria :
"Football is inconceivable without passion. My last choices were based on passion and the history of the clubs I worked for.
I am proud to have this great opportunity to put my skills at the service of one of the most historic clubs in Europe and in French football.
I want to bring as much as possible to this great club and look forward to living the passion of the fans, the stadium and the city. »

Frank McCourt :
“I bought OM because of it’s storied past, its incredible fans, and its unlimited and untapped potential.
Over the last four years, and after a huge enhancement of the Club’s resources, we have completed phase 1 of our project as demonstrated by our qualifying for Champions League play.
Now we begin phase 2 of our journey together. With Jacque-Henri’s continued leadership, the additions of Pablo and Hugues, and Andre’s commitment; the pieces are in place for us to start climbing the next mountain together”.
