Dominators throughout the game, OM won against Nantes (3-1). Dario Benedetto broke his deadlock by converting his penalty.

TRIBUTE TO MARADONA

A football legend passed away on Wednesday 25 November. Diego Maradona died at the age of 60. Today, the whole world is paying tribute to him and this 12th matchday of Ligue 1 Uber Eats is dedicated to him. No Jump for the entry of the players against Nantes, but music in honour of the legendary number 10 "La mano de Dios" by Rodrigo. The entire refereeing body and the players of the match came together to form an M during the video broadcast in memory of the Argentinian.

CHANGES TO THE STARTING XI

Four changes are to be noted in relation to the Champions League match against Porto. Payet, Cuisance, Benedetto and Caleta-Car were back in the starting eleven. Led by their captain Steve Mandanda, the Marseille team were at 4-3-3. Right-winger Florian Thauvin was presented with a framed "200" flocked jersey by President Jacques-Henri Eyraud and Pablo Longoria, Director of Football, celebrating his 200 matches played in Ligue 1, a milestone he passed at Strasbourg-OM.

The Olympian starting eleven: Mandanda (cape) - Sakai, Gonzalez, Caleta-Car, Amavi - Rongier, Kamara, Cuisance - Thauvin, Benedetto, Payet.

PERFECT START

We shouldn't have missed the kick-off today. Just two minutes later, the Olympians opened the scoring. Florian Thauvin beat Lafont with a pinpoint pass from Rongier and lobbed the Nantes keeper. The Olympian will was clear, the score had to be quickly increased. The chances came one after the other but the Olympians came up against a great Lafont, who first made a double save against Cuisance and Benedetto. Two minutes later, the Olympian striker failed in his face-off with the keeper.

AN OFFENSIVE OM

This OM is the one we like to see playing. A collective that is united and that links together beautiful movements, that alternates short and long passes, and that moves forward. While the Olympians had stumbled several times against Alban Lafont, they ended up being rewarded for their efforts. 35th minute: Cuisance crossed back for Payet who found the small net. The number ten was eager to celebrate his goal by dedicating it to his little girl who was born a few days ago. Largely dominating, the Olympians managed a halftime close to perfection with seven shots on target. Little worried about the Canaries, Steve Mandanda was doing the job when he was called upon to take a shot from Louza.

Benedetto FINALLY GETS HIS REWARD

He was looking forward to his goal. He had scored a valid goal against PSG, who had been unjustly denied him, and Dario Benedetto finally unlocked his counter. With the help of the VAR, the referee awarded a penalty to OM, which was converted by the Argentinian. The communion between all the players was beautiful to see and the smile on Pipa's face, too. The Olympians who were well ahead in the score were not satisfied and the Nantes camp was overcrowded with blue and white shirts. But on a Nantes offensive, Blas managed to reduce the score with an unstoppable strike for Mandanda.

After its counter-performance against Porto, OM reacted and imposed itself with style. The Olympians, still two games behind, signed their sixth success of the season.
