Missed chances in the first half cost OM dear as they left Dijon with a point.

LAST MATCH OF THE FIRST HALF OF THE SEASON

Satisfied with the victory of his players against Montpellier, three days before, André Villas-Boas has renewed almost the same starting eleven with only one rotation. Valentin Rongier is back in the midfield in place of Michaël Cuisance.
Nemanja Radonjic is for the second time in a row lined up for the kick-off. If against Dijon, it is the last match of the first leg, the Olympians still have two games to play in hand.

The composition of OM in 4-3-3: Mandanda (captain) - Sakai, Alvaro, Caleta-Car, Nagatomo - Rongier, Kamara, Gueye - Thauvin, Benedetto, Radonjic.

RADONJIC'S CHANCES

From the kick-off, the Olympians put their foot on the ball and occupied the Dijon camp. Radonjic took advantage of a bad control by Ecuele Manga to strike (3rd), but the Serb saw his shot repelled by the goalkeeper. Deciding to quickly open the score, the Marseille players were constantly present in the Dijon half. On his right-hand side, Sakai took his pass and found Radonjic at the back. Radonjic's shot was deflected by Racioppi, but Benedetto could not capitalise. Just before the break, Radonjic, once again, well served and alone at the penalty spot, couldn't find the frame of the goal.

OM SAVED BY THE WOODWORK

Muffled during the first quarter of an hour, the Dijoners gradually rebelled in this encounter, giving themselves a big opportunity. Baldé (22nd)'s shot from the left flank crashed against Steve Mandanda's post. The rest of the first half was more balanced (51% possession for the Olympians) but neither side could find the way to the net. In the freezing cold, OM and Dijon returned to the dressing room with a scoreless draw.

THREE CHANGES IN ONE SWOOP

At the hour mark, André Villas-Boas made three changes. Payet, Cuisance and Germain made their entrance in place of Radonjic, Gueye and Benedetto. The Olympians were facing a very low block. It was difficult to find spaces against a well regrouped defence. In spite of a large possession of the ball, the Olympians had too few situations to win the game.

Trophée des Champions

For a few days, the Olympians will leave the championship aside to make way for another competition: the Trophée des Champions. On Wednesday 13 January, André Villas-Boas' men will face Paris-Saint-Germain in Lens.
