OM has gone down to a 2-1 defeat to Nîmes. Dario Benedetto reduced the score for the Olympians.

Lirola STARTS, PELE IN GOAL

For the first time since his arrival at the club, Pol Lirola, a new recruit, was in charge of the right side of the defence. He had played a few minutes during the Champions Trophy against Paris where he was behind the goal scored by Dimitri Payet. Thus, Hiroki Sakai was on the left flank. Against Nîmes, the goal was guarded by Yohann Pelé, Steve Mandanda suffering from a muscle injury. Another change in midfield: Morgan Sanson was back in the starting eleven. Florian Thauvin was given the armband.

The Olympien starting eleven: Pelé - Lirola, Gonzalez, Caleta-Car, Sakai - Rongier, Kamara, Sanson - Thauvin (cape), Benedetto, Payet.

REYNET THWARTS OM

Pol Lirola's relentless climbs were interesting. Like a millimetre heel for Thauvin, whose perfect centre was taken up by Sanson, who came up against Reynet. Alakouch's hand on the half hour allowed the Olympians to take a penalty. Thauvin, with his left foot, couldn't find the frame. The Olympians went forward again but once again they came up against a Reynet in great form who made an incredible reflex save on Benedetto's rebound. Shortly before the break, Yohann Pelé made a great impression by turning away a header from Koné.

INJURY TO Boubacar Kamara

The Olympians were hit hard in the quarter of an hour with the injury of Boubacar Kamara. The midfielder tried to continue the match as best he could, but the pain was too important and he had to give up his place to Pape Gueye.

Benedetto REDUCES SCORE

Eliasson scored two goals in a row. André Villas-Boas made four changes :  Germain, Cuisance, Radonjic and Khaoui came in. The Olympians managed to get back into the game thanks to Benedetto, who, after an interception, unleashed an unstoppable shot to deceive Reynet. The Olympians can bounce back on Wednesday when they will play their game late against Lens.
