Beaten by Canet, OM have been eliminated from the Coupe de France.

STARTING XI

To face Canet-en-Roussillon in the French Cup Round of 16, Nasser Larguet made three changes compared to the match against Lille with, firstly, the appointment of Yohann Pelé in the cages in place of Steve Mandanda. In central defence, OM had Alvaro Gonzalez back in the side. In attack, Valère Germain was lined up, with Florian Thauvin not being part of the group. Finally, Dimitri Payet picked up the captain's armband.

The starting 11 for OM: Pelé - Lirola, Alvaro, Caleta-Car, Nagatomo - Kamara - Gueye, Ntcham - Payet - Milik, Germain.

FIRST HALF

OM conceded the opening goal (21'). Posteraro's free-kick went into the top corner. The Olympians tried to show their mettle in the wake of a Gueye left-footed shot that failed to find the target. The visitors then equalised after a great team effort. Payet found Germain on his right-hand side who fired in a cross for Milik's bowed head. At the break, the two teams were back to back in the scoreline (1-1).

SECOND HALF

On the way back from the changing rooms, Nasser Larguet made two direct changes with the entrances of Sakai and Khaoui instead of Lirola and Ntcham. Canet regained the advantage through Baï. Unfortunately, OM could not get back on the scoreboard. L'OM will play its postponed game against Rennes on Wednesday 10th March at 7pm.
