Cengiz Ünder is an Olympien
Olympique de Marseille have reached an agreement with Italian club AS Roma for the player Cengiz Ünder. After passing his medical, he has signed on loan with an option to buy with les Olympiens. The Turkish international is the fourth Olympic recruit of this 2021 summer transfer window.
Cengiz Ünder was born on 14 July 1997 in Balikesir, in the north-west of Turkey.
After developing with Turkish club Altimordu, he proceeded to the Süperlig and the Europa League with Basaksehir at the age of 19. After a successful season, as a Turkish runner-up and cup finalist, the promising winger, who can play in all the attacking lines of the midfield, joined AS Roma. During 3 seasons in Italy, he played 88 games (including 14 in European competitions) and scored 17 goals with the capital club. Last season he joined Leicester on loan, where he discovered a new league and played 19 games in all competitions with the English club.
Very versatile, Cengiz Ünder is a dynamic winger, technical, adept at playing 1-on-1 with an ability to attack. His qualities have made him one of Turkey's most promising players and, once he has adapted to our environment, he will be able to make his mark in Jorge Sampaoli's squad.
