Forever dangerous, the French international traumatized Amiens throughout Matchday 14. After allowing an Amiens goal in the 8th minute, OM counted on Thauvin to lead the comeback to victory. Despite trailing, les Olympiens did not change their plans and it paid off.

Florian Thauvin imposed his will at the Stade de la Licorne. The first Marseillais chance  for Thauvin came in the 26th minute, with the ball on his trusted left foot, he first found the back of the net by slotting a judicious shot between the legs of Jordan Lefort. Equalized at 1-1, OM kept pushing. Thauvin scored twice more in the second half: on a sublime free kick slightly deflected by the head of Mathieu Bodmer (80'), and in a stoppage time counter attack (90+1').

In his 200th Ligue 1 match (32 with Bastia and 168 with OM), Florian Thauvin joined Neymar (10 goals) as joint-second in the scoring chart, one goal behind the duo Mbappé-Sala. In the standings, Marseille made a move, passing Saint-Etienne while Montpellier and Lille took only one point each. Undoubtedly, Sunday's victory bears Flotov's signature. After a 2017-18 season that saw him explode  with 26 goals in all competitions, this sesason is trending forward. Arriving from Lille in August 2013, he now stands next to Marc Pascal (62 goals) in 12th place on les Olympiens all-time scorers list in the league.

In the 2018, he is the most prolific French goalscorer among the five major European leagues, tied with Antoine Griezmann with 28 goals each.
