Despite a goal chalked off by the VAR, and a red card for PSG, the two sides played out a goalless draw

SAME XI FROM ROME

This is rare, especially when OM are playing every three days as they are at the moment. Jorge Sampaoli has returned to the same starting line-up as in the last match. The Argentinian coach has lined up the same players as in the match in Rome against Lazio last Thursday (0-0).

TWO GOALS RULED OUT BY VAR…

The video assistance was not idle for this match between OM and PSG. The match between the two teams started at a high level of intensity, but PSG thought they had taken the lead when Neymar's cross was deflected into his goal by Peres. But the Parisians' joy was short-lived as VAR ruled the goal out for offside by the Brazilian.

It was then the Olympians who had a goal disallowed. Milik was on the receiving end of Lirola's cross, a control and a shot later, the Pole beat Navas with his left. But VAR ruled the Spaniard offside and the score remained 0-0 in the first half.

…AND A RED CARD BY VAR

On an Olympien counter-attack, Hakimi fouled Ünder, who went on to score alone. The referee needed video assistance to see the foul which he had not initially whistled. After viewing the images, he gave a free kick to OM and sent off the Parisian defender. If Payet's free kick came to nothing, PSG played the last 35 minutes with 10 against 11.

OM CAN'T PROFIT

In numerical superiority, OM played the game and the Parisians proceeded by counter-attacking, relying on the speed of their attacking players. Payet's cross was headed in by Rongier, who came close to opening the scoring. Gueye and de la Fuente came on to provide freshness and speed for the last 20 minutes. The American got tangled up with a cross and missed the target just before Dieng and Gerson came on for the final 15 minutes.

Marseille and Paris left each other back to back, with both sides taking a point.
