Thursday afternoon saw Japan win 1-0 over Vietnam in the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup. Doan scored the only goal - a penalty kick conversion in the 57th minute. Olympien Hiroki Sakai played the entire game on the right side of the Japanese defense.

In the semi-finals on Jan. 28 at 3 pm, Japan will face the winner of the China-Iran quarter-final match.
