supporting Bleuet de France

The OM-Metz match, like the whole of the 13th round of Ligue 1 Uber Eats and the 15th round of Ligue 2 BKT, was dedicated to Bleuet de France. The LFP and the professional clubs continue to support the ONACVG (Office National des Anciens Combattants et Victimes de Guerre), which manages the national Bleuet de France charity to help the families of victims of war and terrorist attacks. Former OM player Frank Leboeuf is the Bleuet de France ambassador alongside the LFP.

The players have worn the Bleuet de France on their shirts and, in order to collect donations for the benefit of Bleuet de France, the shirts will be auctioned from Wednesday 10 November at 4pm until Sunday 28 November at 3pm at this site.

Mandanda returns to 11

With Kamara suspended, Jorge Sampaoli was forced to make changes to his starting line-up. The Argentine coach made three changes from the European match against Lazio last Thursday (2-2). Gerson and Luis Henrique took the places of Kamara and Rongier. The last change concerned the goalkeeper position. Mandanda was back in goal and with the captain's armband. The record holder of the OM shirt had not been a starter since 28 August and the reception of ASSE (3-1).

a numbers game

In a first half dominated by Olympique de Marseille, who had more than 77% of the ball in their possession, it was the crossbars that were most in demand. The Messins, through Delaine, hit the posts twice (6th and 34th). For OM, Payet fired a shot that hit the Lorraine crossbar (23').
It was a good opportunity for Metz to score but the goal was logically disallowed for offside (21').

Metz down to 10

At the beginning of the second half, OM continued to put a lot of pressure on the Messinian double defensive wall. In the 52nd minute, Jemerson committed a big foul on Payet who remained on the ground. The referee, Jérôme Brisard, initially issued a yellow card but after viewing the images, he decided to send off the Brazilian.
From the free kick, OM scored but had their goal disallowed for a foul on Bronn.

…BUT OM DO NOT PROFIT

With a numerical superiority, the pressure was even stronger on the FC Metz penalty area. The chances just kept coming. Payet, Ünder, De la Fuente, Milik... All the attacking players of the Marseille team tried their luck without succeeding in catching Oukidja, the Lorraine goalkeeper, who was well supported by his nine-man defence after the expulsion.

The nine minutes of extra time saw Antonetti's men play on the counter-attack, without success, and the Olympiens, pushed by the 61539 spectators, continued to come up against the Metz wall, which would not be breached.
