Welcome to Mars, Rubén Blanco!
Today, Olympique de Marseille announces the signing of Rubén Blanco from Celta de Vigo. The 26-year-old Spanish goalkeeper has signed on a one-year loan deal after passing his medical examination.
Born in Mos (Spain) on July 25, 1995, he played all his youth at the Galician club, where he made his professional debut in 2013, at just 17 years old.
Rubén was regularly called up to the youth teams of La Roja and participated in the Euro U19 in 2013 and the Euro U21 in 2017, where he played alongside Pau Lopez. He played nearly 150 games in all competitions (La Liga, Copa del Rey and UEFA Europa League) for Celta de Vigo.
Almost 10 years after his arrival at Celta de Vigo, Rubén joins OM for a new challenge. In Marseille, he will join his compatriot Pau Lopez to form the last line of defense of the Olympic team this season.
