Olympique de Marseille have announced the signing of Quentin Merlin from FC Nantes. The full-back has committed himself to the club until June 2028 after passing his medical.

Coming through the ranks at FC Nantes, Quentin Merlin began his professional career with his hometown club aged just 18 in February 2021. He put in a string of fine performances for the Yellow and Green and played a key role in the club's triumph in the French Cup in 2022, scoring the decisive penalty in the final against OGC Nice (1-0). A victory and a trophy that opened the doors to a European Cup, and more specifically the Europa League group stages in the 2022-2023 season.

At the age of 21, the promising left-back has already played 81 games as a professional, showing off his quality as a crosser of the ball and his attacking skills by providing 7 assists and scoring 3 goals for the Canaries.

His stamina, versatility and ability to project himself forward have also earned him regular call-ups to the national youth teams (U16, U17, U18, U20) and even made him a key member of Thierry Henry's France U21 squad (22 caps for youth teams in total).

Welcome to OM, Quentin!
