The number of wins for OM, their second place, the achievements of the Olympians, the goal average, Mason Greenwood's 21 goals, Adrien Rabiot's 9... These are the statistics to remember after the victory against Rennes.

On Saturday evening, Olympique de Marseille defeated Rennes 4–2 at the Orange Vélodrome. This 20th victory of the McDonald's Ligue 1 season allowed the Olympians to maintain their second place in the standings. This is the 14th time that OM has finished as French vice-champions, five more than any other team.

The Marseille players scored 74 goals during the L1 season. This is OM's third-highest total in the L1 championship in the 21st century (76 goals in 2014-15, 80 in 2017-18) and its best total in a 34-game season since 1969-70 (75 goals). With 74 goals in 34 games, OM has an average of 2.18 goals per Ligue 1 game, its highest in the top flight since 1970-71 (2.47).

Mason Greenwood scored twice against Rennes. He has now scored 21 goals in Ligue 1 this season, the same number as Ousmane Dembelé. He is the second player to reach this total in his first season with OM, behind Alen Boksic and his 22 goals in 1992-93. The Englishman has been involved in 26 goals in Ligue 1, with 21 goals and 5 assists. Only Florian Thauvin, who was involved in 33 goals in 2017-18, has done better.

Adrien Rabiot, who also scored twice against Rennes, has scored nine goals in Ligue 1 in 2024-2025. This is his highest total in a season in Europe's top five leagues. The French international has scored eight goals in 2025, the highest total for a midfielder in the top flight over this period.
