It was 11 a.m. in Miami last Sunday, when Nicolas Rainville blew the whistle to kick off the Ligue 1 Conforama match between OM and SM Caen, (5 p.m. French time). The broadcast came live directly from the OM Urban Soccer Five Fan Club in Miami and was part of the official inauguration programme for this venue which has been used by several former Olympians during their visits to Florida. These include players such as Franck Ribéry, Enzo Francescoli, Eric Di Meco, Mamadou Niang or Basile Boli who have also agreed to act as ambassadors for this five-a-side football complex.

Hosted by Olympian supporters such as the Bernard brothers (Julien and André), Mikaël Miey and Christophe Chemin, Miami's OM Urban Soccer Five Fan Club is now well and truly under the Olympian flag.

This event takes place during the "international week (4 to 10 November)" between Marseille and Miami. These two port cities now have a cooperation agreement in place signed by Jean-Claude Gaudin, the president of the Marseille agglomeration and Esteban Bovo, his counterpart in Miami-Dade County.

The senator-mayor of Marseille is attending this event which finishes on 10th November accompanied by a number of officials including Jacques-Henri Eyraud, the club president and Frank McCourt the owner of the club along with several Marseilles business entrepreneurs.
