OM x PUMA | Discover the birthday jersey
After launching the home, away and third kits, PUMA Football unveiled Olympique de Marseille's anniversary jersey at the inauguration of a colorful city stadium.
Last night, at the City Stadium Glass in the district of Montredon in Marseille, PUMA Football invited fans, media, influencers and local personalities to unveil the fourth kit to pays tribute to the 120 history of the club.
Marking its involvement in the city and with the club, PUMA Football partnered with the mayor of the 6th / 8th arrondissements of Marseille, ArtCan Gallery, Sériès and Caparol to offer the Marseillais a city stadium full of modernity through the #NewLevels design, brand and mantra.
Artist Wow 123 paid a nostalgic homage to the Mire symbolizing this moment when television no longer emits and where individuals exchange again. This city stadium represents these places of life and sharing.
PUMA Football chose to unveil the home, away and third jerseys first to the fans at the Orange Velodrome then at MUCEM, symbolic and iconic locations in the city.
For this anniversary jersey, the fans discovered it in an environment reminding one that in Marseille, football is lived on a daily basis and everywhere.
Usain BOLT, the fastest man in the world, arrived in a speed boat for the launch of the city stadium. Present in Marseille alongside PUMA, he arrived on the pitch wearing the jersey, joining OM players.
After a few words were exchanged with the guests, the Jamaican sprinter took part in his second favorite sport by kicking aroun with the guests.
For this special edition shirt, all the elements of the jersey have been blurred to highlight only two essential symbols : the cross of Marseille and star of the Champions League.
The players will wear this tribute during their meeting on Sunday 1st September against AS Saint-Etienne.
There are 2 types of jerseys:
- Authentic jerseys (Slim fit) that are worn by players during matches. They are developed using PUMA's Shincool technology, which adjusts body temperature and humidity (down to -2.2 ° C). Its highly hydrophilic properties also help to effectively disperse static buildup, improving user comfort
- Replica jerseys (Regular Fit) are made with dryCELL technology that regulates body temperature. There are also side mesh inserts for the wicking of perspiration.
The jerseys will be available in the official stores and on om.net as of Wednesday, 28 August and at the re-sale partners from 2 September.
