Twitch and OM strengthen their partnership
Further to the phenomenal success of Olympique de Marseille broadcasting two of its pre-season friendly matches on Twitch, the first French football club to do so, the club is raising the bar once again by bringing unique, original content to the service in a distribution agreement.
Announcing today, Twitch - the world’s leading livestreaming service - and OM are strengthening their collaboration by pushing the scheme further. From the OM exclusive channel ‘omofficial’, original content, weekly Ladies’ and/or OM Academy live games, Ligue 1 & UEFA Champions League press conferences, interactive talks, etc. made for the service and designed to enhance the fans experience in new ways, will be broadcast. To date in October, the club has broadcasted live 3 home games on Twitch, namely the Women's, U17 and U19 matches.
The two parties are building on a double audience success this summer, which saw, particularly during the match against FC Pinzgau, a peak of 100,000 simultaneous viewers and 266,000 viewers cumulatively.
Twitch is a live video service focused on interaction and contribution from the community of viewers which makes it an extraordinary tool in a sector such as football with a huge community of fans who are passionate and who wish to exchange around a match, the latest news or to share an analysis of a freshly played c match.
