Olympique de Marseille is proud to announce its first steps in eSports through a collaboration with the Grizi Esport structure.

For the 2020/2021 season, the all new 2 “FIFA” players of the setup will represent OM during the various international and national competitions (FIFA Global Series, FIFA eClub World Cup, etc.), including “eLigue1”, organized by EA SPORTS and the French Football League.

The game "FIFA", published by Electronic Arts (also a proud partner of OM) is one of the most played video games in the world with millions of daily players.

For several years now, the FIFA game has been No. 1 in video game sales in France and has become the best-selling cultural asset in France and has nearly 9 million players.

This collaboration allows OM to organize online and in-person activations with its supporters in Marseille, France and around the world, but also to reach an ever wider audience.

Beyond the competitive aspects, this merger will help connect OM with gaming fans and will also address the local eSport scene around online or physical events at the Orange Vélodrome.

Théo Griezmann, CEO Grizi Esport: “It is a huge honor to be associated with such a prestigious club like OM. As an OM fan, this news is all the more beautiful.

We will try to carry the colors of Grizi Esport and OM in the various competitions to come with two extremely talented players who have already performed on the French and international scene."

Hervé Philippe, OM's Chief of Marketing & Media: “We are happy to take this first step into the world of electronic sport through this partnership with the Grizi Esport structure, founded by the Griezmann brothers, fans of the club since their childhood, who have successfully created a competitive, responsible and family structure in a few months. This will be an opportunity for Olympique de Marseille to better understand this new venture and to reach an ever younger and connected audience, in line with our arrival on platforms such as TikTok or Twitch."
