Remembrance on May 5 in Bastia
On Monday, May 5, a delegation from Olympique de Marseille led by President Pablo Longoria was in Furiani to pay tribute to the 19 victims of the tragedy that occurred just before the 1992 French Cup semifinal between SC Bastia and OM.
Alongside the families, the Collectif des victimes du 5 mai 1992 (Collective of Victims of May 5, 1992), representatives of SC Bastia, various island institutions, and accompanied by his Institutional and Sports Advisor, Fabrizio Ravanelli, and former OM defender Bernard Casoni, who was present that evening, President Longoria laid a wreath on behalf of the club and the entire Olympique family.
On this 33rd anniversary, emotions remain intact and Olympique de Marseille wishes to reiterate its commitment to the victims, their loved ones and all those who witnessed this tragedy, and reaffirms its commitment to contributing to the necessary duty of remembrance.
