Pablo Longoria attends the unveiling of statues of Bernard Tapie and Jean Bouin
On Friday, May 16, on the Jean Bouin esplanade of the Orange Vélodrome, two statues were unveiled, including one of Bernard Tapie, carried in triumph by some of his players and lifting the Champions League trophy.
Olympique de Marseille President Pablo Longoria attended the inauguration of the statue paying tribute to this iconic club official from 1986 to 1994. OM, one of the major donors who contributed to the financing of the statue, was thus associated with this momentous occasion.
This tribute recalls the historic significance of this victory and helps to pass on to future generations the strength of the bond between Olympique de Marseille and its great figures.
Through this statue, the memory of a man whose commitment, passion, and ambition enabled OM to establish itself firmly in the hearts of the French people and at the top of European football will live on.
