Abidjan is known for its bustling streets, relentless sunshine... and sometimes, for offering unexpected stars. From these lights, Hamed Junior Traoré was born on 16 February 2000, in the heart of Adjamé. A product of the Macafa and Leader Foot Academy centres, he left his homeland for Italy at the early age of 15. It was an adventure that forged much more than a footballer; it shaped a man forged by adversity.
In Empoli, he discovered the thrill of promotion to Serie A in 2018, before continuing his journey at Sassuolo, where he revealed his first flashes of brilliance under the guidance of Roberto De Zerbi. Loaned out and then permanently signed, he carved out a place for himself in the Italian league, showcasing his technical skills and creativity.
The call of the Premier League took him to Bournemouth during the 2023 winter transfer window. England, a tough and demanding league, suited his many qualities. However, an injury kept him off the pitch and slowed his progress.
After a spell in Naples, it was in France that he really took off. Loaned to AJ Auxerre for the 2024-2025 season, he was reborn. In the Yonne region, he regained his confidence and form at a familiar club, scoring 10 goals and providing 2 assists in 26 games. He won over supporters and observers alike with his speed, explosiveness and volume of play.
With his arrival at OM, the Ivorian international's destiny took a turn that could lead him to continental stages with the Champions League.
Thus begins a new chapter for Hamid Junior Traoré. The passion, the Orange Vélodrome, the supporters, the style of play, Europe... Everything attracts him. He now embodies the tangible promise of a club where he can continue to progress, flourish and put his qualities at the service of Roberto De Zerbi's team.
Welcome to Marseille, Hamed Junior!
