Jonathan Rowe: ‘I learned mentally’

His season of ups and downs

Hello, everyone. I'm happy. My last few appearances have been good. It's been difficult for me, I've been questioning myself in training. That's football, there are ups and downs. You focus on a goal and in the end, you do good things.

The two weeks in Rome and the return to Marseille.

It was a new country for me, I'd never been to Italy before. I celebrated my birthday there. It was very useful, everyone saw that we were more united and closer together. I hope that will be the case until the end of the season. We came back to Marseille, there was more sun in Rome but that doesn't matter.

The Champions League objective

The main objective is to qualify for the Champions League. We're in a good position. Ligue 1 is difficult but everything is still in our hands. It's up to us to finish the job and finish as high as possible in the table.

His future

The season has been a bit disappointing because I haven't played as much as I would have liked. I love playing here and I can't wait to see what the future holds.

His season

Last season, I was a regular starter at Norwich and I took a step forward. OM is a very big club. There have been good times here, even if there have been some difficult ones. I've learned a lot. There's competition, I'm happy to fight for my place. I try to be decisive on the pitch. I'm convinced I can bring more to the team. I'm convinced you haven't seen the best of me yet.

The training camp in Rome with Ulisses Garcia

Ulisses is a senior member of this team. He's a bit of a role model for me. Before Rome, we were already close, we prayed together before matches. Rome was good for everyone in terms of creating a stronger bond within the team. Ulisses is my friend.

Defensive efforts

When we go out on the pitch, we all prepare differently, but the important thing is to play for each other. You have to have the energy to go the extra 2-3 metres to help someone else. No matter how difficult it is, the important thing is to stick together.

Confidence in your game

There's pressure, but I excel under pressure. A lot of players are like that. The fans expect a lot from us. We've embraced that pressure and we're in control. If we win the last two games, we'll achieve our objectives. There's nothing else to add.

Le Havre, an opponent in danger

It's been a difficult season, no game is easy. Anything can happen. We're going there to win. We've worked hard this week to win tomorrow, and every game is difficult.

His relationship with the coach

I've learned a lot mentally this season. The coach knows there are a lot of young players. The competition is fierce, but I believe in myself, and so does the coach. He pushes me every day. I was affected by the change in system in November. I tried to adapt and played in other positions. No matter what position I play, I'm happy on the pitch and I thrive. I hope to contribute even more.

Life away from Norwich

Norwich is the club I grew up with, from the academy to the first team. I follow the club's results and I'm still in touch with some of the players. I like players who play freely or who make a difference on the pitch.

The McDonald's Ligue 1

Ligue 1 is tough. A lot of people have an opinion about the league, but you have to play in it or follow it to have an opinion. It's harder than I expected. It's a real challenge.
