Opal Curless joins les Marseillaises !

Born on 18 May 1998 in Mount Desert in the United States, Opal began playing football in her hometown, where she quickly made a name for herself with impressive performances at high school and for local club FC Stars. She went on to play for Syracuse University and then Florida Gulf Coast Eagles, where she honed her skills and refined her defensive abilities.

In 2020, Opal crossed the Atlantic and began her professional career in Hungary with MTK Hungária, before signing two years later with Valadares Gaia, a Portuguese first division club, where she established herself as a defensive stalwart. After a short spell in Turkey with Istanbul Fatih Vatan Spor, she joined the Mexican football elite with Cruz Azul Femenil for the 2024-2025 season.

A solid and experienced defender, the American will bring all her energy and intelligence to the Olympique team for this season in the Arkema Première Ligue.
