Les Marseillaises won their first match in the Women's Professional Football League Cup on penalties away to Montpellier HSC.

Away in Montpellier for the first day of Group C of the LFFP Cup, the Marseille women thought they had done the hard work by scoring twice, once in the first half and once after the break, both times through Mathilde Bourdieu. But the Héraultaises managed to reduce the deficit and then equalise at the end of the match.

The two teams were separated by a penalty shoot-out. OM came out on top, thanks in particular to our goalkeeper, Margot Shore, who saved MHSC's last penalty.

OM are second in Group C with two points. In the next LFFP Cup match, on Saturday 11 October at 3pm, OM will travel to Aveyron to take on Rodez AF.

On Friday 19 September at 9 p.m., the Marseillaises will return to the Arkema Première Ligue with a home game against Le Havre AC in Martigues.
