Mary Álvarez joins Les Marseillaises

Born on 22 August 2005 in Cartagena, Mary Álvarez played successively for Club Deportivo Formas Íntimas and Independiente Medellín before joining Atlético Nacional in 2022, where she played at the highest level of Colombian women's football.

An intelligent, tough defender with excellent game reading skills, she quickly established herself as one of the great hopes of her generation.

On the international stage, Mary made her mark in 2022 by reaching the final of the U17 World Cup. She then took part in the U20 World Cups in 2022 and 2024, before reaching the final of the last Copa América with Las Cafeteras.

At just 20 years of age, she is about to discover Europe for the first time in her career and will join the squad coached by Corinne Diacre to strengthen Olympique's defensive solidity, at the heart of a long-term project.
