Pro 2: OM wins big against Carnoux
After winning away at Lyon la Duchère last week, our Pro 2 team was keen to secure a second victory and start another winning streak. That's exactly what they did at home against Carnoux FC.
In pouring rain, Ahmed Nouri's players, without Romain Ferrier, who had been promoted to the senior team, were surprised early in the match when Carnoux opened the scoring with a penalty. Our Olympians quickly responded with an own goal by a CFC defender. Two minutes after the equaliser, Mohamed Sahnoune was sent off, leaving the visitors with 10 against 11.
The Marseillais took advantage of their numerical superiority to pull ahead on the scoreboard. Kelyann Bezahaf gave OM the lead at half-time. In the second half, Ange Lago, Antoine Valero, Kelian Le Pironnec and Victor Joseph found the back of the net to seal a 6-1 victory.
In the standings, OM took advantage of Bourgoin Jallieu's defeat to move level on points with the leaders, whom OM will visit on Saturday 21 February at 6pm.
