Jody Brown joins the Marseillaises
Originally from Saint Ann in northern Jamaica, Jody Brown began her professional career at Montverde Academy in the United States. A versatile attacking player, capable of playing in midfield, on the wings or in support of the striker, the young right-footed player impressed in her university league debut.
In 2018, at just 16 years old, she was selected for the Jamaican national team and even appeared in the CONCACAF Team of the Year alongside players such as Alex Morgan and Lindsey Horan. With 38 caps and 14 goals to her name, Jody Brown went on to play in two World Cups with her country in 2019 and 2023.
Considered one of the greatest talents in the American university league, thanks in particular to a brace scored in the championship final with Florida State Seminoles in 2024, the Reggae girl moved to Europe and more specifically to SL Benfica in the same year.
A player with undeniable dribbling and percussion skills, Jody Brown and her number 11 jersey will join the ranks of Frédéric Gonçalves' team in the Arkema Première Ligue.
