Youth League: Points shared between OM and Atalanta
On the fourth day of the Youth League, Olympique de Marseille welcomed Italy's Atalanta to the Francis Turcan stadium with victory in their sights and the aim of securing their first points in the competition. At the end of a fast-paced match dominated by Marseille's attacks, the young Olympians ended up drawing with the Bergamasques, with a final score of 0-0.
Marseille dominated the first half. More combative and convincing, they came close to opening the scoring with three clear chances in the first 20 minutes, through Keyliane Abdallah. OM pushed forward but went into the break with the score still 0-0.
The second half saw fewer chances and more disjointed play. The wind picked up and hampered the ball's progress. Krys Foleu Tene, who came on in the 89th minute, came close to opening the scoring with his first touch, while Yanis Sellami saw his header pushed away for a corner by the Italian goalkeeper in the dying moments of the game. OM deserved better over the whole match.
At the end of this fourth matchday of the UEFA Youth League, OM are still at the bottom of the table and see the qualifying places slipping away. Les Minots will have another home game, the penultimate one of this league phase, against Newcastle on 27 November in Martigues.
